"A stylish apartment in Solna, Sweden, was recently put on the market by its owner, Sasan Shabani, interior designer for one of Sweden’s most exclusive furniture store, Brittfurn. This 74 square meter corner apartment is located on the 4th and last floor, capturing rooftop views scattered in between tall tree crowns". Inside, the bright space is adorned with white stained parquet oak flooring as well as whitewashed walls everywhere except the living room and main bedroom.
"Dark walls in the social space compost a stylish design, perfect for a frugal lifestyle where furniture does not overcrowd the room, while one of the two bedrooms is beautified with wallpaper. A modern dark kitchen from Marbodal stylishly hides plenty of storage space and encompasses built-in stainless steel appliances. Two bar stools ensure you have a quick breakfast before heading out each morning. In this large kitchen, a cozy fireplace next to an exposed brick wall hints towards placing a dining table to enjoy alongside visiting friends and family. The large south-facing balcony is accessible via the living room and showcases an elegant simplicity dressed in expose brick".

Warsaw White Apartment
This light and spacious apartment is located in Warsaw, Poland, on the first floor of the intimate building in Wilanow district. It was designed by Chaplupko Design studio to be multifunctional and display a modern collection of spaces and furniture.
Inside there is a dominant white and grey colour palette, which gives an overall impression of space and soberness. White tiles and natural oak flooring, which has been brushed and coloured, plus wooden furniture, induces a feeling of a pristine, freshness and brightens up the space. “The dream of the owners was to create an open, white and minimalistic home, as calm and neutral as possible. The place to relax and enjoy family life after a long day. The core of the apartment is an open living area, designed in a highly contemporary manner. The white lacquer finishes make this place literally shine”.
“The socialising zone includes a sofa, dining table and kitchen island. Splashes of color appear here and there, for creating interesting visual contrast. A crystal chandelier is the most striking decorating item from all the room and seems to be a statement of the luxury this home implies. Also it makes good contrast with a massive, large, white oak table. The private zone is bedroom, bathroom and wardrobe. The bedroom was designed as peaceful, restful room, connecting the wardrobe through the white, floor to ceiling door. This place is hold in neutral pastel palette, with floral wallpaper from Wall and Deco. The bed and wallpaper seems almost to appear from comprehensive white. Light is a crucial point in this project. It creates the space, makes it more warm and cozy. It shines along the horizontal furnisher lines, work surface in the kitchen, ceiling, glass surface in the bathroom, wallpaper in the bedroom".

Storm Cottage House
Fearon Hay Architects have envisioned and implemented this Storm Cottage House, a residential project which is nestled on the east coast of Great Barrier Island in New Zealand.
“The dark exterior palette is completed with a layer of perforated metal screens. This operable layer allows the moderation of light/air and protection both when occupied and alone. Internally walls and floors are clad with oiled oak boards that provide a warm counter to its robust exterior.”
“Care has been made to limit the scale of the building and maintain a sense of ‘cottage’. The building is off the grid, powered by solar panels independent systems for water collection and treatment. This is a retreat that provides shelter, warmth and comfort to engage with the wilderness and isolation of the remote setting. The layout of Storm Cottage is simple and practical, centred around a beautiful open plan living space”.

Point Piper Apartment
CO-AP Architects have completed this contemporary remodel of an apartment, located in Sydney, Australia.
"Alterations and additions to a 1940s harbour-front apartment. The brief called for opening up the existing rabbit-warren of rooms to maximise northerly views over Sydney Harbour. The clients, empty-nesters, were downsizing and requested to convert the existing three bedroom apartment into an open-plan, flexible one bedroom apartment with a guest/AV room".
"Many of the existing walls were demolished, only the main fireplace core running through the building was left intact. It was sculpted to provide framed views from the deepest parts of the apartment".
"A new division between sleeping and living areas was created by a wall of European Oak joinery with openings and sliding wall panels providing access to the main bedroom and utility areas beyond. This joinery wall also houses part of the kitchen at the southern end. A custom made white Corian table is used as the kitchen island and breakfast bench".
Clean, crisp and minimal were used throughout the apartment. European Oak flooring, white limestone slabs, pale coloured glass and almond hued linoleum faced joinery completes the palette.
